What happened
On [REDACTED] [REDACTED] at approximately [REDACTED] a Maintenance GMM was troubleshooting the Shipping Ring Wrapper that had a problem with the wrapping head. A guide rod located inside of the wrapper had fallen out. The GMM locked out the electrical power then entered the wrapper fencing. While standing on a step ladder and troubleshooting the problem an air driven piston rod which was in the extended position moved unexpectedly. This action pushed his right hand into a stationary cutting blade causing a laceration near the employee 's right thumb.
