Teammate reported she was moving boxes on a skid in order to get to the part (which was in another box) she wanted

What happened

On [REDACTED] at approximately [REDACTED] Teammate reported to [REDACTED] that she had injured her left thumb. Teammate reported that she was reaching into a bin moving boxes around trying to get to a part. While she was reaching a box fell on her left thumb in smashing crushing fashion. Teammate reported she was on a stock picker reaching over parts on a pallet. The box that fell on her thumb was estimated to be approximately 35-40lbs. Teammate reported she felt like she had been hit with a hammer. Teammate reported she reported the incident to her leader right away. She told her leader she did not need to see a doctor at that time. Teammate reported she went back to working without using her left hand very much. She had to ask other teammates for help for rest of the shift. Teammate went home after the shift ended.
