Before the incident
[REDACTED] was assisting with removal of tailgate from a tandem.
What happened
the ee was assisting in the removal of the tailgate from an IBM [REDACTED] truck. While positioned inside the truck bed the ee detached both pins from the tailgate and connected a chain. In the process of handing the chain to the Crew Lead the tailgate detached from the vehicle subsequently striking the crew leader causing the ee to fall out of the truck. Following the incident the ee assisted in lifting the tailgate off of the crew leader.
