Before the incident
Employee had just drawn a venous blood sample from patient central access. He was transferring blood sample from the needled syringe in his right hand to the [REDACTED] loaded cartridge that he had on his lap.
What happened
Needled syringe in right hand had become destabilized during turbulence as employee was transferring blood to cartridge causing a superficial needle-stick to left hand as he was placing lid back on needle in case he needed to re-draw. This was a 1cc syringe and 25ga SQ needle.
