Before the incident
Team had just transferred care of a patient to the HMC ED who was receiving transfused blood (ours). Employee was standing 3-4 ft away from bedside giving report to care team when blood was being swapped over.
What happened
Partner quickly retrieved blood tubing causing it to swing and somehow spray affected employee and physicians (on clothing). Affected employee received slpash to arm and face.
