Handing off a sharpened knife

Member was handing sharpened knife to a high trim member. In his left hand the member held the knife with handle in his hand and the blade facing downward or toward himself. In his right hand the member held the knife with handle in his hand and the blade facing away from him or the member he was handing to. Somehow the knife in his left hand punctured and lacerated his forearm. The member then left the area to take care of his wound. Ambulance was called and first responders treated until the ambulance arrived.
