Chipper Operator had a choke-up (Upset Condition) in strip chipper. Employee called for assistance to help clear choke-up. Once the choke up was cleared another employee was operating strip chipper in manual to make sure it was working properly.

The Chipper Operator stood on the mid-rail of the railing and was leaning over the edge of the vibrator to see if there were any problems. A long strip began feeding into the vibrator and the trail end of the board raised up and striking the chipper operator in the forehead.

Operator received a laceration above the left eye.
