Before the incident
Maintenance millwright (MW1) was assisting another millwright (MW2) at the trimmer outfeed and infeed of the 90 chain.
What happened
The [REDACTED] that was injured stated he was kneeling with left knee on the flat metal between the 90 chain runner. The MW2 was on the floor working on the drive approximately 2-3 feet below the flat metal and 90 chain. [REDACTED] put out his arm to assist MW2 from the floor on to the 90 degree chain flat metal to prevent MW2 from crossing over chains to exit area. When MW2 pulled himself up using [REDACTED] as an anchor [REDACTED] stated he heard a crackling sound from his left knee but felt no pain.
Injury or illness
Two days later MW1 notified maintenance superintendent he had some swelling just below his left knee. The millwright was taken to the local clinic X-ray was negative. Bone Bruising just below the left knee.
