A maintenance employee was scraping up tape lines in [REDACTED]. They were using a hand tool with a minimum length of 42 inches and a maximum length of 74 inches. The employee had the tool extended and locked in place but as they were scraping the handle collapsed which caused them to bend over unexpectedly far. It was determined that the lock was worn down which lead to it being able to slip out of place and collapse the tool
