Installing new propellers to a vessel.
What happened
Employee lost control of the 3 ' propeller as he was hoisting it with a lifting device. The propeller rotated and employee attempted to stabilize it by holding its blades with both hands. However the inertia of the rotating propeller was too strong for him to handle. As a result his left ring finger got caught between the propeller and the vessel 's rudder penetrating his Kevlar gloves and resulting in a laceration.
