Manual die clean out

Approximately [REDACTED] employee was attempting to preform a manual lip clean on the bottom knife during a 60 Pacesetter die line critical run using the long manual die clean out tool. IW swiped from center to drive side cleaning the die. On the way back to the center the back of glove was cut open by the strip edge resulting in a 3 to 4 inch long laceration on the back of the IW right middle finger. The IW left the area to receive on site first aid to help slow the bleeding a clotting agent and triangle bandage were used. After assessing the severity of the cut IW was sent to urgent care for possible stitches and further care. IW received 5 stitches to the back of his finger and was released to work.
