The employee was finalizing a tote order onto a conveyor and processed to grabbed an empty 2lb tote from underneath their utility cart

What happened

On [REDACTED] at approximately [REDACTED] an athlete was picking up on B Floor Zone 2. While picking the athlete bent down to grab the empty pick tote from the bottom of the pick cart while returning to the standing position the athlete 's left hand hit the convey causing the athlete pain. The athlete immediately notified safety who then notified the athlete 's supervisor. The athlete stated the pain was 10 out of 10 initially with 10 being the worst. Safety provided an ice pack and ibuprofen for the athlete. After the ice was administered and ibuprofen was taken the athlete stated their pain level dropped to a 7 out of 10. The athlete elected to go home and self-care for remainder of the shift. Upon investigation the athlete confirmed they were working fast in order to hit pick rate and failed to anticipate the distance between themselves and the conveyor.
