Injured employee and another employee were dismantling a crane. Removing the outriggers from the crane using jack stands IW was on one side of the crane and the other employee was on the opposite side. Both Employees were trying to remove the pins holding the outriggers together by hitting them with sledgehammers. Once the other employee got to a stopping point to rest IW decided to take over.

Noticing the pin was almost out IW decided to take it out using his left hand. Once he took out the pin the tension that was holding the outriggers together decompressed all at once pinching his hand in the process (Mechanism of Injury). IW immediately let his supervisor know who then transported him to Next Level Urgent Care (Cypress) to seek a medical assessment.
