The employee had driven a cart to retrieve some parts for the task they were completing.

At approximately [REDACTED] on [REDACTED] two maintenance employees were setting-up new Rack Shelving for storage of non-finished goods materials for the Environmental Coordinators work area. The employees were working on the 4th section of racking to be installed. Two additional grids were needed to complete the job. Using the maintenance cart and gloves Employee #1 (IP) transported two grids to the work area. Employee #1 removed the two grids from the maintenance cart and leaned them against a second cart parked closer to the targeted rack locations. Employee #1 went to retrieve the grids to place into the racks. When Employee #1 attempted to lift the outer grid the inner one slipped rapidly. The weight of the grid combined with how quickly it slipped caused the persons left index finger to be pinched and bent backwards between the two grids. The person quickly pulled the hand away. The pain was in the persons fingertip which radiated down to the base of the finger.
