Grinding Material

IE was grinding holes on a steel beam at workstation #2. IE was wearing safety glasses face shield and gloves at time of injury. IE reported he actually saw a small piece of steel come under his face shield and felt it hit his eye. Tried flushing eye at eyewash station with no relief. Sr. Site Manager attempted to located foreign body in eye with no success. IE was taken to Eye Dr. by the Safety Manager. A small piece of steel that was embedded in the left eye was removed by the Dr.
