Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: the %% employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a) On or about December 10, 1991, at approximately 2:00 PM, at the east side of Bay 3, an employee was permitted to weld on a steel girder, sixty-three feet long, weighing approximately 9 tons, without the steet girder being properly secured to prevent it from overturning on employee. Among other methods one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to utilize clamps or braces on steel girders to insure girders will not overturn.

Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: the %% employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a) On or about December 12, 1991, in various bays, steel girders weighing approximately 5 to 10 tens were rigged for lifts with fabricated in house hooks/clamps without provisions to secure the loads. Among other methods one feasible and acceptable method of abatement to correct this hazard is to utilize manufactured hooks/clamps specifically engineered and designed for such purpose.
