Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that on and before 11/24/93, employees were exposed to the hazard of broken bones, internal injuries and death from falls of approximately 17 feet while performing work duties including, but not limited to, welding on steel atop the brick and block wall. Methods of abatement may include, but are not limited to, the use of fall protection systems such as, scaffolding, catch platforms, nets, aerial lifts, guadrails or static/catenary lines in conjunction with sfaety belts or harnesses and lanyards.
