Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) In the painting area employees load trailer frames onto the monrail system and handle the frames as they are supported by the monrail system and are exposed to the hazard of falling trailer frames. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is: a) inspect the monrail carriers and hooks for damage, cracks, bending, twisting and excessive wear and remove from service that equipment that is unsuitable and b) test the hooks at 200of their rated load and c) test the monrail carriers at 125of their rated load and d) use slings or devices to attach the frames to the hooks so that the load rests in the saddle of the hook and not on the tip of the hook.
