Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employmnent and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to Section 5 (a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of being crushed by the forklift and/or falling off the forklift. Location: a)Throughout the Facility. On or about 12/03/96 through 02/21/97: Employees were operating a Hyster Fork Truck serial number C187V04725P, and a Clark Fork Truck Type LP, No. A-692059, serial number A223581, without wearing seat belts. Abatement Notes: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to: Follow the requirements of American National Standards for Safety Standard for Low Lift and High Lift Trucks ( ASME/ANSI B 56.1a-1989 Addenda to ASME/ANSI B56.1-1988).
