Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employmnent and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to electrical hazards: a.)F/V CLIPPER EPIC: Circuit breaker number 32 was missing from electrical panel P 101 in the engine room. One feasible and economical method of abatement would be to install a blank in the unused opening. b.)F/V CLIPPER EPIC: A microwave oven was sitting in front of the electrical panel in the galley, blocking access to the panel in case of an emergency. One feasible and economical method of abatement would be to relocate the microwave oven. c.)F/V CLIPPER EPIC: A ground fault circuit interrupting-type receptacle (GFCI) has not been provided in the bathroom aft of the galley. One feasible and economical method of abatement would be to replace the existing receptacle with a GFCI receptacle. d.)F/V CLIPPER EPIC: The cover was missing from the electrical controls on the hot water tank in the reefer room. One feasible and economical method of abatement would be to replace the cover on the controls. e.)F/V CLIPPER EPIC: The fixture cover was missing from the light on the wall over the master's bunk. One feasible and economical method of abatement would be to replace the light fixture, or install a covered junction box and place the wires in it.
