Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) Manufacturing plant: Employees operating Caterpillar 6,000 pound forklifts were not using the seatbelts provided on the forklifts. This creates hazards of falling and crushing. One feasible abatement method used by this industry is to enforce the utilization of seatbelts while operating Caterpillar forklifts. ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREDATION
