Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that: a) At the Geco Tau ship, two employees were exposed to an approximate 14 foot fall hazard in that the employees were working in a Genie S-60 self propelled extendible boom aerial lift and were not utilizing an appropriate fall arrest system. One means of feasible abatement would be to comply with the American National Standards Institute, ANSI A 92.5-1992 Standard for Boom-Supported Elevating Work Platforms. Violation observed on 23 April 2002.
