Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to hazard of being struck by or falling from collapsing truss system: (a) On or about July 14, 2005 - Employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck by or falling from a collapsing wood roof truss system, in that; the trusses were not adequately braced relative to the amount, size and location of the braces in order to prevent a collapse. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement to correct this hazard is to install trusses in accordance with the Truss Plate Institute's BCSI-B1 "Handling, Installing and Bracing Metal of Plate Connected Wood Trusses", which was attached to and delivered with the trusses from the manufacturer. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION NOT REQUIRED
