Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Factory Deck: On or about February 6, 2010 and at times prior thereto, the Model #550L, Serial #127 Tokai Header had not been fully isolated from its power source during blade removal. This condition exposed employee to amputation hazards in the event of inadvertent start-up. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to ensure the equipment has been isolated by shutting off the power at the main distribution panel.bution
