Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to electrical shock and burn hazards: (a)Maintenance Area, Panel PP-3: On or about February 13, 2011 and at times prior thereto, a 3 X 2.25 inch space existed in the panel. This condition exposed employees to incidental contact with the bus bar energized to 208 volts. (b)Bowthruster Compartment, Panel PP-5: On or about February 13, 2011 and at times prior thereto, a 2 X .5 inch space existed in the panel. This condition exposed employees to incidental contact with the bus bar energized to 208 volts. One feasible and acceptable means of abatement would be to insert approved blanks into the spaces.
