Minn. Stat. 182.653 subd. 2: The employer did not furnish to each employee, conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards which caused or were likely to cause death or serious injury to employees: The Ridgid 300 pipe threader located at the Field Shop was not equipped with a 'deadman' type foot switch. Among other methods, a feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct this hazard would be to provide a foot switch for the Rigid 300 pipe threading machine as recommended by the manufacturer in their 1987 publication on this matter.
