Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to THE HAZARD OF BEING STRUCK-BY a Loader: a)Scrap Yard, on or about 12/14/05: Two Caterpillar Loaders, Models 950 and 966, used to move buckets of scrap metal, were equipped with non- functioning reverse signal alarms. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to have the audible reverse signal alarms replaced and maintained functional in accordance with the Association of Equipment Manufactures (AEM) safety manual as well as the Manufacturers Operational Manual.onal
