Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:07/24/06 Location:Battery Charging Area Condition:Employees were exposed to corrosive battery acid while servicing forklift batteries, including adding water to the batteries, and were not provided with an eyewash station capable of providing at least 15 minutes of continuous flush. (b)Date of Violation:07/24/06 Location:Plate Developing Room Condition:Employees were exposed to corrosive plate, developing solution, and were not provided with an eyewash station capable of providing at least 15 minutes of continuous flush. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to install eyewash stations that conform to ANSI Standard and provide 15 minutes of continuous flush.
