General-duty citation text

Notice 1, Item 3, 29 CFR 1910.36(g)(1) as required by 29 CFR 1960.8(b):
The agency did not
comply with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards
applicable to their
agency in that the FAA did not ensure the space at the bottom of the Cab
stairway was greater
than six feet eight inches as required by 29 CFR 1910.36(g)(1), which
states that the ceiling of
an exit route must be at least seven feet six inches high and any
projection from the ceiling must
not reach a point less than six feet eight inches from the floor.
a) Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport ATCT- On or about September 10, 2008,
FAA station
management did not ensure that the space at the bottom of the cab stairway
was at or greater
than six feet inches in height as required by 29 CFR 1910.36(g)(1).
In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required
for this violation
(using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in
addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be
included
with
your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to,
evidence of the
purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of
abatement, or other
written records.
