Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to falling from an under rated fall protection system: a)Roof Trim Area: Three employees were connected to a cable fall protection system approximately 15 feet above the floor and the system was only rated for 2 people. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to: Certify the cable and anchorage support in accordance with ANSI Z359.1- 2007, Section 3.2.5.2, Safety requirements for personal fall arrest systems, subsystems and components.s

Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck by a fallen load lifted by the under the hook lifting devices: a)Dormer Area: Employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck by fallen material while using an unrated below the hook lifting device that was used for lifting pallets. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct these hazards are to: Inspect the lifting devices and rate and mark their load capacity rating in accordance with ASME B30.20 - 1993 (Below the Hook Lifting Devices), Section 20-1.3 - Inspections and Section 20-1.2 - Marking and Construction. NEW ENGLAND HOMES, INC.
