Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall hazard: a) North side of building, 2nd floor edge, Parsippany, NJ. Employee was working inside a scissor lift basket that was not protected from falling off the edge of the 2nd floor. Violation observed on or about 03/18/2008. "Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is follow the ANSI Standard incorporated into the "Manual of Responsibilities", ANSI/SIA A92.6- 1999, Section 7.10- Operator Warning and Instructions, Paragraph 23(c).Maintain a safe distance from obstacles, debris, drop offs, holes, depressions, rammps, and other hazards to ensure safe travel.
