Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: 1) Employees were exposed to struck-by and crushing hazards as the employer used a metal cargo bar to prop up a rolling overhead door. This passage is frequently traveled by forklifts to load and unload freight on trailers. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION ARE REQUIRED Possible abatements for this hazard include but are not limited to removal of the door or repair of the door mechanism.
