Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to a fire hazard:
a.On or about March 4, 2011, at GD 102-1, (a 6000 gallon Dowtherm vaporizer
unit) had the loop on the safety interlock bypassed, exposing employees to
a
potential fire hazard.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct
the hazard is to always follow the manufacturer's recommendations and/or
instructions.
ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION ARE
NOT REQUIRED.
