Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazards: (a)On or about September 21, 2010 - Facility, employees were exposed to fall hazards when elevated in a platform attached to a forklift. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to prohibit the lifting of personnel unless lifted in a manufacturer approved work platform as outlined in the Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks Operations and Maintenance Manual.
