29 CFR 1910.1200(g)(8): The employer did not maintain copies of the required material safety data sheets for each hazardous chemical in the workplace: (Construction Reference: 1926.59) At the front of Sandy Beach Homes, a Mason was applying wet mix Portland cement onto a concrete wall. At the time of the inspection, a Material Safety Data Sheet was not available for Hanil Portland cement.

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: (Construction Reference: 1926.59) At the project site, employee was not trained on the hazards of Hanil Portland cement. Employee was exposed to the hazard of caustic burns from wet Portland cement thus, resulting in potential blisters, dead or hardened skin.
