29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) The Fanuc I robotic welding machine had one opening with a fixed guardrail that was 21 1/2 inches high that allowed access and a second opening with a chain across the opening that was not interlocked with the robot movement that allowed access. (b) In the southwest corner of the shop the Hyd-Mech metal-cutting band saw did not have the un-used portion of the blade guarded.
