29 CFR 1910.1026(d)(1):     The employer with a workplace or work operation covered by this standard did not determine the 8-hour time-weighted average exposure for each employee exposed to chromium (VI):  (a) In the Welding Area a worker performed welding on stainless steel, but the employer did not evaluate the exposure of the worker to hexavalent chromium.  OSHA air monitoring performed on December 12, 2011 found that the welder was exposed to hexavalent chromium at an airborne concentration of  approximately 1.6 micrograms per cubic meter.  This exposure was in compliance with the OSHA permissible exposure limit (PEL) of 5 micrograms per cubic meter, as an 8 hour time-weighted average.
