29 CFR 1910.23(e)(1): The railing did not consist of top rail, intermediate rail, and posts, and did not have a vertical height of 42 inches nominal from upper surface of top rail to floor, platform, runway, or ramp level: (a) Main production floor; A rope was used as a top railing between gates on the elevated metal work platform with a fall distance of over 6 feet. (b) Main production floor; Where ropes were used as a top railing, intermediate railings were not installed on the elevated metal work platform with a fall distance of over 6 feet.
