29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): Machine guarding was not provided to protect operator(s) and other employees from hazard(s) created by: a. Rough Grinding - Burr King 760 belt grinders - On 12/01/11 platen brackets and platens, which are part of the normal assembly intended to provide protection for the nip point, had been removed exposing the nip points between the contact wheels and belts. b. Rough Grinding - - On 12/01/11 the covers over the tensioning assemblies of Burr King 760 belt grinders #1 & 4 were missing which exposed the nip point between the idler wheel and the belt. c. Rough Grinding - Burr King 760 belt grinder #2 with internal grinding arm - On 12/01/11 the 3 pinch guards were missing which exposed the nip points between the belt and the contact and idler wheels.
