29 CFR 1926.95(a): Protective equipment, including personal protective equipment for eyes, face, head, and extremities, protective clothing, respiratory devices, and protective shields and barriers, were not provided: (a) At the south side of the Granada apartment complex, second floor, on or about December 9, 2011, eye protection was not worn when applying Hansen Portland cement onto the wall. Employee was exposed to cement contacting the eyes. (b) At the south side of the Granada apartment complex, second floor, on or about December 9, 2011, hand protection was not worn when applying Hansen Portland cement onto the wall. Employee was exposed to wet cement contacting the skin. Wet Portland cement can damage the skin because it is caustic, abrasive, and absorbs moisture.
