OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1):  The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees are exposed to fire and/or explosion hazards from the malfuctioning temperature control system for annealing furnace B.    a)     On or about December 13, 2011, Davis Wire Pueblo, LLC, failed to ensure the temperature control system, which consisted of the temperature regulator and the temperature monitoring gauge on annealing furnace B, was functioning properly so as to protect employees, required to oversee annealing operations, from fire and/or explosion hazards fueled by natural gas lines used as a heating source.      Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is as follows:    a)     Ensure all protective and regulating devices on an appliance, including but not limited to the temperature control systems are functioning properly and checked periodically for proper operation as stated by ANSI Z223.11.5 - NFPA 54 National Fuel Gas Code - 2009 Edition.
