29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:    The employer failed to provide methods of machine guarding that would protect employees while operating the following equipment:      a. Grob Band Saw Type 4Y-24, serial number 1934, the blade guard was not being used or adjusted prior to operating equipment leaving the unused portion of the blade exposed. Employees were exposed to lacerations, fractures and/or amputations upon accidental contact.      b. Burgmaster Turret Drilling Tapping and Boring machine, serial number 3120, a guard or shield was not provided to protect the operator being injured by flying chips and parts. Employees were exposed to lacerations upon being struck by flying debris.    Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
