29 CFR 1926.451(g)(1): Each employee on a scaffold more than 10 feet (3.1 m) above a lower level shall be protected from falling to that lower level. Paragraphs (g)(1)(i) through (vii) of this section establish the types of fall protection to be provided to the employees on each type of scaffold. Paragraph (g)(2) of this section addresses fall protection for scaffold erectors and dismantlers. Note to paragraph (g)(1): The fall protection requirements for employees installing suspension scaffold support systems on floors, roofs, and other elevated surfaces are set forth in subpart M of this part. A the jobsite located at 2501 N. 14th Ave, Dodge City KS: Employees engaged in EIFS installation activities from a three tier tubular welded frame scaffold were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 18 feet and 12 feet to the ground as: a) At the ladder access point no guardrailing or other equally effective means of fall protection was not provided. b) The midrail was not fully in place on the second tier of the scaffold.

29 CFR 1926.452(c)(2): Frames and panels shall be braced by cross, horizontal, or diagonal braces, or combination thereof, which secure vertical members together laterally. The cross braces shall be of such length as will automatically square and align vertical members so that the erected scaffold is always plumb, level, and square. All brace connections shall be secured. At the jobsite located at 2501 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City KS: Employees engaged in EIFS installation activities from a three tier tubular welded frame scaffold were exposed to scaffold collapse hazards in that all segments of the scaffold were not braced using cross, horizontal, diagonal or a combination of the aforementioned braces.
