OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fire and explosion hazards: (a) Location - Spin Lathe Area: On or about 2/27/12, the employer failed to maintain oxygen hoses in an acceptable condition that was free from oil and grease. Among other methods, a feasible means to eliminate or reduce this hazard is to maintain oxygen lines free from any/all visible oil sheens and deposits in accordance with the material safety data sheet kept at the worksite. Train all workers and management personnel on how to inspect and rectify oil deposits on oxygen hose lines accordingly. Follow up accordingly. The Spincraft Company was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational safety and Health Act, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 315431494, citation number 2, item number 1b with regard to a workplace located at 500 Ironhorse Park, North Billerica, MA.
