29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): "Unprotected sides and edges." Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. On or about 5/14/2012, employees were exposed to a fall hazard of up to 57 feet above ground level without means of fall protection, while performing construction activities at a construction site located at 7801 North Federal Highway, Boca Raton FL. 33487. Two Instances: (a): On the South Stair Tower, an employee was exposed to a fall hazard of up to 57 feet while supervising the placement and finishing of concrete on a walking /working surface at a construction site located at 7801 North Federal Highway, Boca Raton FL. 33487. (b): An employee was exposed to a fall hazard of up to 8.5 feet while standing on top a tunnel form preparing and connecting rigging equipment at a construction site located at 7801 North Federal Highway, Boca Raton FL. 33487. NOTE: CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.

On or about 5/14/2012, the employer did not provide and install fall protection systems for an employee exposed to a fall hazard of up to 57 feet while supervising the placement and finishing of concrete on a walking /working surface that had deficient guardrails at a construction site located at 7801 North Federal Highway, Boca Raton FL. 33487.
