29 CFR 1926.20(b)(2): Programs did not provide for frequent and regular inspections of the job sites, materials, and equipment to be made by competent persons designated by the employers: a) Residence in at Bishops Gate, 1000 Bishops Gate Blvd., Mt. Laurel, NJ: Employees were exposed to a fall hazard of greater than 30 feet to the ground below while standing on the 3rd floor top plate, installing the roof trusses to the breezeway of a wood frame three story hotel addition under construction. The workers were not using any means of fall protection. The employer had not initiated a program for a competent person to conduct frequent and regular inspections of the jobsite, to identify hazards and/or stop the work in the event workers were placed in a hazardous condition. Observed on or about 7/6/12. NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a) Residence in at Bishops Gate, 1000 Bishops Gate Blvd., Mt. Laurel, NJ: Employees were exposed to a fall hazard of greater than 30 feet to the ground below while standing on the 3rd floor top plate, installing the roof trusses to the breezeway of a wood frame three story hotel addition under construction. The workers were not using any means of fall protection. Observed on or about 7/6/12. NOTE: BECAUSE ABATEMENT OF THIS VIOLATION IS ALREADY DOCUMENTED IN THE CASE FILE, THE EMPLOYER NEED NOT SUBMIT CERTIFICATION OR DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT OF THIS VIOLATION AS NORMALLY REQUIRED BY 29 CFR 1903.19.
