29 CFR 1910.1000(c):     An employee's exposure to substances listed in Table Z-3, in any 8-hour work shift of a 40-hour work week, exceeded the 8-hour time weighted average limit given for that substance in the table:    An employee performing abrasive blasting operations was exposed to air-contaminants over the 8-hour time weighted average:         a)  An abrasive blasting employee in the outdoor abrasive blasting area on 10/10/12 was exposed to Silica, Crystalline Quartz (respirable) at an 8-hr time-weighted average level of 6.8 mg/m3, approximately 3 times the limit of 2.326 mg/m3; this limit established to prevent silicosis. The blaster used Australian Garnet media to blast metal parts for an agricultural manufacturing oepration. The exposure level is derived from two samples collected over a 457 minute period.         b)  An abrasive blasting employee in the outdoor abrasive blasting area on 10/10/12 was exposed to Inert or Nuisance Dust (respirable fraction) at an 8-hr time-weighted average level of 6.8 mg/m3, approximately 1.5 times the limit of 5.0 mg/m3. The blaster used Australian Garnet media to blast metal parts for an agricultural manufacturing oepration. The exposure level is derived from two samples collected over a 457 minute period.
