29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10): Each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs, with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more above lower levels, was not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest system (PFAS). (a) ACC Roofing Inc., Denver Convention Center, 700 14th Street, Denver, CO: On or about September 21, 2012, the employer had not ensured all employees were provided with and using appropriate fall protection prior to the start of work. Employees were observed tearing off damaged roofing material on the Denver Convention Center Roof without fall protection. Condition exposed employees to a fall hazard in excess of 130 feet. (b) The employer had not ensured employees were provided with and using appropriate fall protection prior to staging rolls of roofing material along the south side of the flat roof section below the roof blade. Condition exposed employees to a fall hazard of approximately 15 feet. ACC Roofing was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 311905392, citation number 1, item number 1, issued on July 14, 2008 with respect to a workplace located at 602 Pine Mountain Court, Windsor, CO. Abatement Note: Abatement certification and documentation are required for this item (See enclosed "Sample Abatement-Certification Letter").
