Detachable side protectors (e.g. clip-on or slide-on side shields) meeting the pertinent requirements of this section are acceptable: a) On or about October 8, 2012, the employer, Metal Products, LLC, did not require the use of detachable side protectors on safety glasses thereby exposing employees, who are required to cut and grind metal as well as operate pneumatic rivet guns, to potential eye injury from flying objects.
