29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): "Unprotected sides and edges." Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. (a) The employees were not using fall protection when installing a knee wall on a commercial building. The employees were exposed to a fall hazard greater than 25' when working on the roof of a commercial building. IEI General Contractors, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard CFR 1926.501(b)(10), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 312553183, citation number 01, item number 1b and was affirmed as a final order on December 24, 2009, with respect to a workplace location at 5120 Calumet Ave., Manitowoc, WI 54220.
